MUSCAT – The initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen sustainable construction practices and enhance the quality of urban development in the Sultanate of Oman.
The new certificate aims to recognise and document projects and facilities that comply with the standards of the Oman Building Code (OBC) Manual, highlighting buildings that demonstrate high standards in both design and execution.
The ministry stated that the certificate will be awarded to buildings that adhere to key technical specifications and safety requirements outlined in the Oman Building Code, while also serving as practical examples of quality urban development.
The initiative is expected to enhance confidence in the implementation of the OBC Manual, showcase its practical feasibility, and provide reference models for developers and investors across the real estate and construction sectors.
It will also contribute to improving the quality of the urban environment and raising awareness of sustainable construction methodologies through real-world applications and best practices.
