MUSCAT : The Ministry of Education, represented by the Unified Admission Centre, said registration will continue until June 4 via an advanced platform offering a more efficient and user-friendly process.
The system allows students holding a General Education Diploma, or its equivalent for the 2025/2026 academic year, to apply online, review available programmes and specialisations, and select academic pathways aligned with their future goals.
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Azri, Director General of the Unified Admission Centre, said the platform has undergone comprehensive re-engineering to align with modern technological standards and better meet students’ needs. He noted that the new system offers a smoother user experience through redesigned interfaces and integrated services.
He explained that the student journey begins with an improved login system allowing account creation using basic details such as civil ID, email address, phone number, and seat number. The homepage has been redesigned as a central dashboard, enabling students to access personal data, academic results, study programmes, admission offers, and sorting reports within a unified digital environment.
The system also includes smart tools to help students select programmes by institution or specialisation, with automatic filtering based on eligibility and suggestions tailored to academic performance. Students can rank their preferences using flexible methods, including drag-and-drop, navigation arrows, or manual entry.
Al Azri added that the digital student guide has been enhanced with interactive features, including explanatory videos supported by artificial intelligence, accessible via QR codes to simplify registration and admission procedures.
He noted that this year’s guide introduces new features, including direct admission to specialised fields at Sultan Qaboos University and full scholarships offered by Ooredoo Oman in selected disciplines linked to employment opportunities.
In terms of inclusive education, new initiatives include an art education programme for students with hearing disabilities at Sultan Qaboos University, as well as internal scholarships at private higher education institutions for students with autism.
The centre has also conducted 16 awareness sessions for career guidance specialists across governorates, in addition to participating in initiatives such as the Excellence Schools campaign organised by Petroleum Development Oman, alongside various student and parent outreach events.
Al Azri urged students to apply early and avoid last-minute submissions, stressing the importance of carefully reviewing academic options and prioritising preferences. He also highlighted the role of parents in supporting informed decision-making to ensure successful academic and career outcomes.
