MUSCAT : The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the regional situation and their implications, with both sides exchanging views on efforts to promote de-escalation, reduce tensions, and advance sustainable political and diplomatic solutions.
Discussions also highlighted the importance of safeguarding the security and safety of maritime routes and strategic waterways, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, with emphasis on ensuring the smooth flow of international navigation in order to protect global supply chains and support economic stability.
Lord Edward Llewellyn expressed appreciation for Oman’s perspectives on maritime security, while both sides underlined the importance of upholding international law and ensuring freedom of navigation.
The two parties reaffirmed the need to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination in security and maritime fields, alongside the exchange of expertise to support ongoing efforts to maintain regional stability and security.
