Muscat: According to the latest weather update, most parts of the Sultanate will witness rainfall of varying intensity on Monday, March 23. Moderate to heavy showers, occasionally turning very heavy, are expected in Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, North and South Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, Al Wusta, Musandam, and both North and South Al Batinah. Meanwhile, parts of Dhofar Governorate are likely to receive light to moderate rain.

The CAA has also warned of low clouds and fog formation during late night and early morning hours, particularly affecting South Ash Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, Dhofar, and coastal areas along the Sea of Oman. These conditions are expected to significantly reduce horizontal visibility, posing risks for motorists and travellers.

In addition, dust and sandstorms may impact desert and open areas, with strong downdrafts and blowing debris anticipated in some regions. Authorities have cautioned residents to remain alert, especially in areas prone to wadi flows and flash floods.
