Madayn lays foundation stone for RO 9 million multi-storey parking and office project at Knowledge Oasis Muscat

With an investment value of RO 9 million, the project is being developed by Oman National Engineering and Investment Company and forms part of Madayn’s broader efforts to enhance infrastructure and service facilities across its industrial cities.

Muscat — The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has laid the foundation stone for a multi-storey parking project featuring modern office and service spaces at Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), under the auspices of Eng. Dawood bin Salim Al Hadabi, Chief Executive Officer of Madayn.

With an investment value of RO 9 million, the project is being developed by Oman National Engineering and Investment Company and forms part of Madayn’s broader efforts to enhance infrastructure and service facilities across its industrial cities.

Eng. Jaafar Al Ajmi, Director General of Knowledge Oasis Muscat, said the project represents a strategic step towards strengthening service infrastructure and creating an integrated business environment for companies operating at KOM. He noted that the development aligns with Madayn’s approach to maximising the utilisation of strategic locations while improving operational efficiency and service quality in line with evolving economic requirements.

Al Ajmi added that the project reflects a long-term planning vision that balances current needs with future expansion, while supporting investment sustainability. He emphasised that service-supporting projects play a central role in enhancing the competitiveness of industrial cities and contributing to economic diversification in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The multi-storey parking and office project is being developed on a land area of 14,863 square metres, with a total built-up area of 52,221 square metres. Comprising a ground floor and four upper floors, the facility will include approximately 7,000 square metres of office space, 1,500 square metres of commercial areas, and parking capacity for up to 1,500 vehicles.

Additional facilities will include quick vehicle maintenance services, retail outlets, cafés and other service amenities. The project is expected to be completed and operational by November 2027.

By the end of 2024, cumulative investment at Knowledge Oasis Muscat had reached RO 312.5 million, with more than 200 projects operating across a total area of 759,566 square metres. The zone employs 2,621 people.

Knowledge Oasis Muscat focuses on attracting sectors that support the knowledge economy, including information technology and communications, business services, education and training, creative industries, entrepreneurship and innovation. These activities contribute to building an integrated ecosystem that promotes innovation, generates high-quality employment opportunities and attracts value-driven investments, reinforcing the Sultanate’s position as a regional hub for technology and knowledge-based industries.
