MUSCAT – In a public awareness message titled ‘Protect Your Homeland’, the ROP highlighted the dangers posed by unknown individuals who enter the country illegally, evading official procedures, security checks, and biometric documentation.
“An unknown person is roaming around — a hidden danger that entered the country secretly, with no information or fingerprints to identify him or reveal any past criminal activity”, the message warned.
The ROP stressed that some infiltrators may have criminal records or may be fugitives from justice in other jurisdictions. Their presence in the community without proper identification or oversight poses a threat to national security, public safety, and the rule of law.
Individuals who employ, shelter, or cooperate with such persons may unknowingly be exposing themselves, their families, and their communities to harm. In addition, they may face legal consequences for aiding individuals who are in violation of Omani immigration and labour laws.
“Do not be an accomplice in the crime. Report the hackers,” the ROP stressed.
