KUWAIT : The Sultanate of Oman participated in the seventh meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee at the ministerial level for the Economic and Development Affairs Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held today in the State of Kuwait.
The Omani delegation was headed by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
The meeting reviewed the recommendations of the Committee of Senior Officials of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority, including the stages of economic integration among GCC states, particularly concerning the challenges facing the Customs Union and the GCC Common Market, with the aim of achieving economic unity. The meeting explored ways to address these challenges and find appropriate solutions.

The meeting also discussed the plan and working mechanism for the timeline to build the Gulf economic model, and preparations for holding a Gulf conference and dialogue discussion sessions at the conferences scheduled to take place in GCC countries next year, among other topics related to economic and developmental projects within the framework of joint Gulf cooperation.
During the meeting, a working paper was presented, exploring avenues for cooperation and integration among GCC states in the field of the blue economy, as well as cooperation in achieving and implementing the economic visions of the GCC countries. Additionally, a visual presentation was delivered on the detailed performance dashboard regarding the implementation level of the GCC Common Market and the outcomes of the statistical survey measuring the implementation of joint Gulf cooperation decisions.
