MUSCAT : The move marks a qualitative addition to the existing services of the Protection House, which has primarily catered to women and children victims of trafficking.

The new unit forms part of the Sultanate of Oman’s broader efforts to combat human trafficking, carried out in coordination with governmental, civil, and international partners. By aligning with global best practices, the initiative underscores the nation’s commitment to upholding human rights principles and international agreements.

Equipped to high standards, the facility ensures a safe and private environment for victims while offering a range of essential services. These include healthcare, nutrition, recreational activities, and comprehensive psychological and social support. The programs place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and reintegration into society, helping victims rebuild their lives with dignity and empowerment.

The Ministry’s Protection Home already provides an integrated framework of care for children exposed to abuse, violence, or exploitation, as well as for women facing domestic violence.
