AMSTERDAM : The accolade was presented to the ship’s crew in honour of their remarkable discipline and captivating cultural showcase during the festival. Dressed in authentic Omani attire and accompanied by traditional folk music, the sailors won admiration from international audiences, offering a vivid display of Oman’s maritime legacy.
Adding to the moment, Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands visited Shabab Oman II while it was docked at the Port of Amsterdam. She toured the vessel, expressing her admiration for its symbolism of Oman’s seafaring history blended with a modern spirit. The Princess emphasized that such exchanges deepen cultural dialogue and strengthen cooperation between Oman and the Netherlands.
