Saham records Oman’s highest temperature at 44.5°C

The readings come as Oman experiences rising temperatures ahead of the peak summer season, with several parts of the country already crossing the 40°C mark during daytime hours.

MUSCAT — Saham recorded the highest temperature in Oman over the past 24 hours at 44.5 degrees Celsius, according to data released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Several other areas across the Sultanate also witnessed intense heat, with Samail and Fahud each recording 43.9°C, followed by Dima Wattayeen at 43.6°C.

Al Rustaq and Muqshin both registered 43.5°C, while Sur and Barka recorded 43.2°C each, the CAA’s meteorological stations data showed.

Jalan Bani Bu Hassan reached 43.1°C, followed by Al Suwaiq at 43.0°C and Wadi Al Maawil at 42.9°C.

The readings come as Oman experiences rising temperatures ahead of the peak summer season, with several parts of the country already crossing the 40°C mark during daytime hours.

The temperatures were recorded during the last 24 hours ending Monday, according to the CAA.
