MUSCAT : The organisation confirmed that it began providing urgent relief at the onset of the conflict using resources from local markets until supplies were exhausted. In a substantial humanitarian effort, OCO operated 16 airlifts to Egypt and Jordan, delivering essential relief and medical supplies. It also facilitated the arrival of the first group of war-wounded individuals for medical treatment in the Sultanate of Oman.

However, the OCO clarified that the complete closure of crossings into Gaza has since made it impossible for any humanitarian aid to enter from various international parties and organizations, including the Omani body itself. Despite this significant hurdle, the organization affirmed its continuous efforts, maintaining weekly coordination with key partners. These include the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Amman, the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Jordanian Red Crescent, and the Palestinian Red Crescent. This ongoing dialogue aims to monitor developments regarding the opening of crossings and ensure the OCO’s full readiness to deliver aid as soon as an opportunity arises.

OCO reaffirmed its full readiness to resume aid delivery as soon as the crossings are reopened.
The statement further clarified that the Oman Charitable Organisation is the only official entity authorised to collect donations from individuals and institutions within Oman for the purpose of sending humanitarian assistance abroad, in line with national regulations.

Concluding its statement, the OCO assured the public of its unwavering commitment to its humanitarian role. “We assure everyone that the Oman Charitable Organization will not stop performing its humanitarian role, and will always remain ready to provide support as soon as the crossings are opened, asking God for a quick relief for our people in Gaza,” the statement read, extending sincere thanks to all who express their concern and solidarity with those affected.
