Muscat: According to fresh data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total number of registered vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman stood at 1,776,642 as of March 2025.
Private vehicles continue to dominate the roads, accounting for 79.2% of the total with 1,407,472 registrations. Commercial vehicles followed with 261,527 units, making up 14.7%, while rental vehicles numbered 40,678 (2.3%) and taxis stood at 28,307, representing 1.6% of the total registered fleet.
In terms of weight, the number of vehicles weighing less than 3 tons reached 1,612,032, representing 90.7 percent of the total number of vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman.
