Muscat: On May 30, 2024, Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) held its prestigious Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony to honour meritorious students for the academic year 2023-24. The event featured the Late Shri Mathradas Khimji Memorial Awards, Shri Kanaksi Khimji Scholarships, and Academic Excellence Awards.
The school was honoured to witness the presence of Shri Ajay Mathradas Khimji – Founder of Mosaic LLC. & Senior Director of Khimji Ramdas Group, and Shri Nailesh Khimji – Director of Khimji Ramdas Group as the chief guests for the evening’s programme. Other esteemed dignitaries present on the occasion were Shri Anil Khimji, Shri Rajendra Ved, members of the Education Cell, other distinguished members of the school management committees of ISWK and ISWK International, parents, students and well-wishers.



The ceremony began with lighting of the auspicious lamp and a rendition of the prayer song, followed by the presentation of awards to outstanding students of classes VI-XII. The late Shri Mathradas Khimji Memorial Awards were presented by Shri Ajay Khimji to the meritorious students of classes VI-XII who have excelled in academics in 2023-24. The Kanaksi Khimji Scholarships were presented to students for their stupendous performance in academics, sports, and co-scholastic activities, marking a pioneering initiative in the Indian schools in Oman. To recognize the commitment and hard work of the students, the CBSE toppers of classes X and XII were felicitated. Section-wise toppers and subject toppers were also honoured with Academic Excellence Awards.

The inter-house short film competition showcased the creative talents of students, with Vivekananda House winning the award for the best short film for ‘Sum of Second Chances.’ Awards were also given for best director, actor, supporting actor, editor, and scriptwriter. Principal Mr. D N Rao congratulated the winners and encouraged further participation in such events. The programme concluded with the proud awardees clicking photographs with the distinguished guests, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees and highlighting ISWK’s commitment to recognizing academic excellence.
