Over 145,000 beneficiaries register for childhood, elderly benefits under Oman’s SPF

The Social Protection Fund (SPF) has announced that a total of 145,000 people have registered as beneficiaries under the childhood and elderly categories until November 20.

MUSCAT : According to the SPF, the scheme is structured to benefit a total of 1,300,000 children and 167,000 elderly citizens.


Beneficiaries are required to register through its electronic portal – https://spf.gov.om to avail the benefits.


To register, the SPF states the requirements as follows: “Use the phone number registered in civil status by entering the civil number and expiry date of the ID card, or the civil number on the child’s birth certificate, after which an OTP text message arrives to verify and complete the registration directly, then choose the bank name and account number and fill out the questionnaire.”


Childhood benefit (OMR 10 per month) for children under 18 years of age requires that the child is a resident of the Sultanate of Oman. Beneficiaries require a phone number registered in civil status registration, an activated bank account for the beneficiary, and a valid ID card. Children who do not have an ID card can register with the civil number on the birth certificate.


The category entitled to benefit elderly (OMR 115 per month) requires that the age of Omani beneficiaries be 60 years or older; be a resident of Oman, have a valid ID card for confirmation, a phone number registered in civil status, and an activated bank account.
