MUSCAT : Indian School Bousher held the closing ceremony of AVENIR2022 #DISCOVERYOU, a comprehensive educational and career guidance programme, on 18th October 2022.
His Excellency Malik Bin Hilal Al Yahmadi, Member of the Shura Council representing Wilayat of Bousher graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr Mahmood Yahya Al Husaini, the Assistant Director General for Administration and Financial Affairs, Ministry of Education was the Guest of Honour and the programme was presided over by Dr Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
The programme was attended by Mrs. Ashwini Sawrikar, Finance Director of the Board, Mr Ajayan Poyyara, President and other esteemed members of the School Management Committee, teachers, students and parents of Indian School Bousher.

The Chief Guest released the souvenir of Avenir 2022 that contains the links to access all the talks held during the event and the profiles of the speakers. Dr Bhavesh Bhalerao, the Principal of Indian School Bousher extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and delivered the valedictory remarks by reiterating the solemn purpose of Avenir2022 # DISCOVERYOU.
“Avenir plays a pivotal role in providing guidance to the students regarding the umpteen avenues open to them for their higher education and career opportunities. The psychometric assessment that the Board is going to conduct soon will enable the students to assess themselves and help them discern their future,” Chairman Dr. Sivakumar Manickam said in his address. He lauded the organizing team of Avenir for the successful completion of the event.
An overview of AVENIR2022 #DISCOVERYOU was presented by Dr Chandan K J Simha. The five-day event encompassed career talks by high-profile professionals from different domains, internationally acclaimed motivational speakers, success stories of illustrious entrepreneurs, insights into developing soft skills to give finesse to one’s disposition and interpersonal relations, and above all, the presentations by reputed universities worldwide.
Dr G R Kiran, Dean of Middle East College addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of Avenir through his informative message. He has mentioned the key trends shaping the new world of work – Firstly, the rise of work and the decline in employment, secondly the shift to skills and skill assessments, thirdly digital technologies and finally the vital importance of digital skills. He accentuated the significance of lifelong learning as the changing trends require, technical brilliants and competencies along with social responsibilities.
The audience was impressed with the energetic dances and mellifluous music performances of the students. Ms Ambika Padmanabhan, the Vice-Principal of Indian School Bousher proposed the vote of thanks.
