MUSCAT: The decision to publish names and photos of those involved in public funds cases will be decided by the court and upon approval, it will be implemented by order of the law.
His Excellency Nasr bin Khamis Al-Sawai, the Public Prosecutor, said at the annual conference of the Public Prosecution said that 107 cases were registered for misusing public funds in 2021.
“Out of which 52 cases have been referred to the courts, 15 cases are under investigation and disposal, 15 cases in which a verdict of conviction and 3 verdicts of acquittal have been issued, and 40 cases in which the verdict has been issued by the Public Prosecution,” Al Sawai said.

“The Public Prosecution is working in coordination with the State’s Financial and Administrative Control Authority with regard to monitor such crimes,” he added.
