Covid-19 in Oman: Lulu Exchange chief Adeeb Ahmed, Indian Media Forum distribute food baskets to needy

 As part of helping the needy during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the country, Adeeb Ahmed, Managing Director of Lulu Exchange in association with Indian Media Forum (IMF), have distributed food kits to workers who are affected by the crisis. 

In the first phase of the campaign, the food kit was distributed to 500 people in Muscat governorate. “As you know there are hundreds of people who are affected due to the coronavirus crisis in the country and our aim is to help them in whatever ways we can. This is just a start and in the coming weeks we will be reaching out to the many needy people,” said Adeeb Ahmed. 

“Most of the customers of Lulu Exchange are common people who work in Oman and sends money back to their family back every month. Some of them we know are now struggling to make both ends meet due to the pandemic crisis. It is our duty to stand by our customers and help then in a situation such as this,” Adeeb said. 

The kit, according to Adeeb, has food essentials that a family can use for one month. “We are doing this campaign with IMF who has an extensive reach in the country. In the next phase, we will be reaching out to many people in other governorates as well,” he added.

The campaign was launched at the Lulu Exchange head-office by Adeeb along with Latheesh Vichithran, General Manager of Lulu Exchange, Edison Fernandes, Deputy General Manager, Mohammed Al Kiyumi, Public Relations Head in the presence of IMF members headed by Kabeer Yousuf and Jayakumar Vallickavu.
