New York: Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg was sacked on Monday after a disastrous period in which the company faced a series of setbacks, including two fatal crashes, delays and numerous issues with its 737 Max airplane, CNN reported.
Chairman David Calhoun will take over as CEO, effective January 13, 2020.
The Max was grounded worldwide and temporarily suspended its production after two deadly crashes — one in October 2018 off the cost of Indonesia and another in March 2019 in Ethiopia — which killed a combined total of 346 people.
