MUSCAT: One of the most attractive features of Oman, making it an ideal travel destination, is its tranquility and its unique climate, a report published by The New York Times said.
The report stated that due to the nature of its geographical positioning, the Sultanate of Oman is one of the rare countries in the Arab world that witnesses the autumn season, turning the landscape into lush green, waterfalls flooding the mountains, valleys filled with fresh water, with thick fog enveloping the southern provinces of country.
The report indicated that the fall in Salalah is popular with citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, stressing that during the winter months, the Sultanate receives more European tourists.

The Sultanate of Oman is also famous for the Empty Quarter, which is the largest sand desert in the world, and consists of about 250,000 square miles of sand dunes.
Tourists enjoy shopping in the Sultanate, as they find many types of stores ideal for souvenirs throughout the Sultanate of Oman.
The report also spoke about Musandam, situated in the northern part of the Sultanate of Oman, which is home to beautiful straits, green and blue bays and mountain ranges.
