MUSCAT: His Excellency Professor Mahad Bin Said Bin Ali Baawain, Minister of Labour, said that the Ministry collected OMR 232.9 million from revenues in 2021. The Minister of Labour said that the ministry’s total revenues represented licensing fees, work contracts, fines, and others.
The break-up of the revenues collected are as follows – OMR 217.4 million in card fees; OMR 9.4 million from the job safety fund; OMR 473,000 from the General Federation of Workers of the Sultanate; OMR 4.8 million in fines; OMR 509,000 from labour contracts, OMR 351,000 from licensing fees and OMR 15,000 from other incomes.
He added that the ministry, through its digital transformation plan, has worked to electronically link with 30 government agencies, of which 16 are provider as well as beneficiary, nine are only beneficiary, and five are provider alone.

The details of revenue collection were discussed during the virtual press conference to review the work achieved in 2021 and to set the goals for 2022.
