MUSCAT: In a major development, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has updated the travel guidelines for passengers coming to Oman.

In a decision issued on Monday, CAA said passengers aged 18 and above can present the result of COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival or within 24 hours after their arrival in the country.

“All passengers aged 18 and above are required to present a negative result of COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival or within 24 hours after arrival and a health insurance covering COVID-19,” CAA said in the circular issued to all airlines operating in Oman. However, CAA is yet to clarify on the procedure regarding presenting the PCR after arriving in the country.

CAA also said passengers aged 18 and above must present the “vaccination certificate indicating that they have received at least two doses of the approved COVID-19 vaccine,” CAA informed.

Meanwhile, CAA has also removed the mandatory “pre-arrival” registration for passengers. In the circular issued, CAA said passengers coming to Oman need not register at the www.travel.moh.gov.om anymore.
