Tour of Oman: Jan Hirt finishes first in 5th stage

The final stage, starting from Al Mouj Muscat and ending at marine street in Muttrah, will be held on Tuesday, February 15.

MUSCAT: Czech cyclist Jan Hirt from the Belgian IWG team won first place in the fifth stage of the Tour of Oman, which concludes on Tuesday, with the participation of 17 international teams and Oman’s national cycling team.
 
Czech Jan Hirt won the red jersey in the overall time standings, British cyclist Mark Cavendish of the Belgian Quick Step team won the green jersey in the overall points standings, and the young cyclist Charmig Anthon of the Norwegian Uno X Pro Cycling team won the jersey.
 
The fifth stage of the circumambulation started from Al-Fayhaa rest house in the Wilayat of Samail in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, then Nizwa Road, passing through the exit of Wadi Muharram intersection, and then to the exit of Wadi Saqt, Izki / Sinaw Road / Al Ulaya, then Al Washel area to Muqtaz Wasima, passing through the Al Shabak area, from which turn right to the Wilayat of Izki. And then to Nizwa (Birkat Al Moaz) ending in Jabal Al Akhdar with a total distance of 150,50 km.
 
The sixth and final stage, on Tuesday, February 15, will be for a distance of 135,5 km, starting from Al Mouj Muscat and ending with the marine street in Muttrah. Thus, the length of the circumnavigation path in the 11th edition will be about 891 km, moving between the terrain and landscapes that abound in the Sultanate of Oman.
