MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, has issued a Royal pardon to a number of prisoners convicted of different cases.
They included 229 prisoners, 70 of them are foreign prisoners, according to an official source at the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The Royal pardon of His Majesty the Sultan coincides with the anniversary of 11 January, the day when His Majesty assumed reins of power. It also comes in consideration of the families of the prisoners.
