MUSCAT: Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has issued a decision directing all companies to allocate 20 per cent of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) budget to Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO).
The decision was issued by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion on Sunday.
“The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion issued a ministerial decision to deduct 20 percent of the budgets of institutions and companies allocated to social responsibility programs for the benefit of the Oman Charitable Organisation,” the statement said.

“The aim is to enable it to carry out its role providing charitable works to deserving social groups,” the statement added.
