MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the National Center for Informatics Safety, has discovered a security gap in the IOS system of Apple corp.
The flaw was spotted by Omani researcher Saif Hamad Al Hinai, Senior Security Data Analyst.
The anomaly was reported to the company, which took measures to patch the security gap in its latest version “IOS 15”.

Apple also documented this discovery (ref. CVE-2021-30870) through its official page (website) where it lists the security gaps registered/reported as of 25 October 2021.
It has been the third security accomplishment of its kind registered by Apple under the name of the National Center for Informatics Safety of Oman: The first took the number (CVE-2016-7667) and it was dated 20 December 2016 and the second was registered under (CVE-2019-873) and dated 8 October 2019.
The discoveries reflect the advanced level of cooperation between the national centre and Apple in the field of cybersecurity.
The National Center for Informatics Safety of Oman advises the technology’s users to update their systems.
