MUSCAT: National Transport Company — Mawasalat has issued a statement after one of its passenger bus caught fire in Wilayat Sur on Friday.
Mwasalat confirmed that all passengers were immediately evacuated from the bus without recording any injuries. “The incident happened at 7 pm on Friday in Wilayat Sur when the rear parts of the bus caught fire,” Mwasalat said.
The firefighting teams of Civil Defence and Ambulances Authority (CDAA) managed to extinguish the fire on Friday.

The company said its specialised team “visited the site immediately to conduct preliminary investigations, in partnership with the competent authorities.”
“Mwasalat pays utmost attention to health and safety procedures on board its fleet, and would like to thank the competent authorities that dealt with the accident with high professionalism that led to the control of the fire,” Mwasalat added.
