MUSCAT: With growing complaints by citizens over high electricity bills, the Authority of Public Services Regulation (APSR) said it is reevaluating the bills of May and June.
Speaking to the media, His Excellency Dr. Mansoor Al Hinai, Chairman of APSR said the authority received a total of 5,000 to 7,000 complaints from subscribers due to high electricity bills. “The bills for the months of May and June will be recalculated, and in case there is an increase in the bill, the excess amount will be deducted from the bill of the following month,” Al Hinai said.
Many citizens and residents were taken aback by their electricity bills having doubled, or even tripled, in the past month.
