MUSCAT: More than 50,000 Omani citizens employed in the government sector receive salaries between OMR 1,000 and OMR 2,000, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
In the latest figures released on Monday, NCSI said Omanis earning OMR 900 and less than OMR 1,000 reached 25,630, while those in the wage category of OMR 700 to less than OMR 800 reached 36,681.
“Regarding the wages, 52,542 Omanis receive between OMR 1,000 and OMR 2,000, constituting the largest segment of Omanis working in the public sector,” NCSI said in the report.

According to NCSI, 55.8% of those Omani citizens working in the public sector are males, while females constituted 44.2%.
Meanwhile, the number of Omani workers registered in the public sector pension funds reached 187,897, including the Civil Service Pension Funds, the Diwan of Royal Court and the Central Bank of Oman, until the end of May 2021.
