MUSCAT: The Supreme Committee carefully evaluates while taking a decision to impose or lift the ban on countries in the wake of coronavirus cases, Oman’s Minister of Health said.
Oman has currently imposed a travel ban on over 20 countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and UK. Speaking in an interview, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi said the Sultanate has certain criteria for imposing the travel ban on countries including the number of tests related to the new strains. “The Supreme Committee carefully evaluates when we take certain decisions including the travel ban. Every country has certain criteria and even we also have conditions for removing countries. Part of the reasons for the ban depends on the number of tests related to the new strains,” the Minister informed.
“Sultanate has prevented travelers from coming to more than 30 countries, and many countries were removed from the list,” he added.
