MUSCAT: Half a million doses of COVID-19 vaccines will arrive in Oman after Eid holidays, a top Ministry of Health (MOH) official said.

Dr. Bader Saif Al Rawahi, Director of Communicable Diseases at MOH said during August and September the Sultanate will receive three million vaccine doses.

“Due to the Eid holidays the vaccination is stopped but we will immediately restart the campaign after the Eid holidays. We are expected to receive half a million doses of vaccines,” Al Rawahi said.

The government, according to Al Rawahi, is planning to vaccinate people at a faster rate in order to contain the spread of the virus. “After Eid holidays, the vaccination process rate will be made faster,” he added.

Oman has so far vaccinated 38 percent of the total population.
