MUSCAT: Ministry of Finance on Monday issued a financial circular regulating the appointment to vacant posts in all government institutions in the country.
According to the circular, all government institutions must now obtain prior approval of the Ministry of Finance prior to announcing or advertising vacant posts, even in the case of availability of vacant financial grades (for those posts) at the departments making the announcement.
The circular, also states that all government departments must provide the Ministry of Finance with detailed accounts of vacant grades on a regular basis. It also urged internal audit units at ministries, government units, public authorities and institutions to cross-check adherence to this mandate.
