More than 38,000 passengers subjected to institutional quarantine in Oman

Currently more than 11,000 passengers are under institutional quarantine

MUSCAT : Over 38,000 passengers arrived in Oman have been isolated in institutional quarantine since the rule was made mandatory in February, the Relief and Shelter sector of Ministry of Social Development said on Tuesday.

In a statement issued to Oman News Agency, the department said until April 25, around 11,086 people are currently subjected to isolation in 609 institutional centers in various parts of the governorates.

Speaking about the 13 flights arriving from India at Muscat International Airport on April 24 on the day of the travel ban, the department had this to say: “Regarding what was circulated on social media on April 24, about the arrival of 13 flights coming to Muscat International Airport, there were 4,926 passengers arrived on that date and they were dealt with the same procedures that were specified by the Supreme Committee in terms of procedures for PCR testing, , wristbands and institutional quarantine,” the statement added.
