Next two months critical, we may take tougher measures including imposing lockdown in Oman, says Supreme Committee

MUSCAT: In the wake of rising coronavirus cases, the Supreme Committee said it will impose a night movement ban, starting from March 28 until April 8 between 8pm to 5am.

During this period, all commercial activities will be closed and movement of individuals and vehicles will be banned.

Meanwhile, the committee said specialists expect the period from 1 April to 31 May 2021 to be extremely difficult stage in the pandemic’s development in the Sultanate. To avoid the worse, the Supreme Committee will take a series of tougher and more comprehensive measures during this period that may culminate into lockdown and total ban on movement.” the statement from the committee said.

On Thursday, Ministry of Health registered 89 hospital cases as Covid-19 cases continue to rise. The total patients admitted to hospitals reached 419
