MUSCAT: Oman Investment Authority (OIA) has dissolved Oman Aviation Group and its subsidiary division Transom on Friday.
In a statement issued, OIA said the aviation sector operations will return to how it was before establishing these two units and its duties and responsibilities will be handed over to Oman Airports and national airline Oman Air.
Earlier, in an interview with Oman News Agency, His Excellency Sultan Al Habsi, Minister of Finance also confirmed about the government’s move to dissolve the two entities. “Oman Investment Authority is taking corrective steps to dissolve both the Oman Aviation Group and the Transom, so that two companies, Oman Air and Oman Airports Management Company, will continue to operate its duties,” Al Habsi said.

Employees of the two dissolved units will be moved to Oman Airports, Oman Air and other state-owned enterprises under OIA or other government units “based on the need and vacancies.”
It is worth noting that OAG was formed in 2018 with an aim to expand the country’s aviation sector.
