MUSCAT: National transport company Mwasalat has temporarily suspended its Ruwi to Muscat International Airport route for one week.
This comes after the Supreme Committee (SC) decided to close Oman’s borders in the wake of a fast-spreading variant of COVID-19 in UK.
In a statement issued, Mwasalat said: “Mwasalat is suspending Ruwi, Muscat International Airport, Al Mabela route for one week.”

Earlier, SC said the decision to close borders will come into effect from 1am on Tuesday.
“Cargo traffic (airplanes, trucks and ships) will be excluded from this prohibition. The committee will continue to monitor the epidemiological situation of the new strain of coronavirus and take appropriate decisions accordingly,” the statement from SC said.
