MUSCAT: Cinépolis Cinemas, the largest movie exhibitor in Latin America and the third largest in the world, has announced the imminent reopening of its venues across the Sultanate of Oman, due on the 16th of December 2020, welcoming residents and visitors back to the immersive, high-tech experiences they have known and missed.
The much-awaited reopening will include the international movie exhibitor’s multiplexes at Oman Avenues Mall in Muscat, Oasis Mall in Sohar, and Oasis Mall in Salalah, all of which will receive moviegoers five days a week, between Wednesday and Sunday, with showtimes set to start between 3 pm to 11 pm featuring the latest blockbusters and family favorites.
The magic starts on the dot of 11 pm on Wednesday, December 16th, with a special early viewing of the exhilarating superhero franchise film Wonder Woman 1984, where viewers can once again marvel at the fascinating invincibility of Princess Diana of Themyscira. On the cards as well are animation film The Croods: A New Age, sequel to the spectacularly successful The Croods of 2013, and Pixar’s acclaimed and beautiful animation film Soul.

Cinépolis Cinemas will make sure guests are pleasantly reminded of the appeal of cinema through a variety of viewing experiences featuring state-of-the-art audiovisual technologies. At Muscat’s Oman Avenues Mall, the global brand has announced reopening its 4D E-motion, Junior and Macro XE experiences to the public, with the Luxury screen scheduled for opening at a later date, to be duly announced. In Sohar and Salalah, Cinépolis will welcome moviegoers at the family-friendly Junior experience, as well as the larger-than-life Macro experience and the state-of-the-art Premium auditoriums with Recliner seating categories.

Cinépolis Cinemas has additionally announced discounts and F&B offers across all its Oman venues, where moviegoers can refine their experiences with expertly prepared and seasoned snacks, such as popcorn, nachos, and hot dogs.
The offer doesn’t end there, as Cinépolis has also announced a special token of gratitude to frontliners in the Oman law enforcement and healthcare services, represented in free entry for law enforcement and healthcare staff between 17 and 23 December.

The reopening of Cinépolis Cinemas in Oman also coincides with the launch of Cinépolis’s new website and mobile application, available for Android and iOS under the name Cinépolis Gulf. The platforms provide guests with a user-friendly interface enabling them to book the latest movies in advance, facilitating a contactless experience with a reduced waiting time.
Cinépolis Gulf reiterated its commitment to complying with all local and international health and safety guidelines, with precautionary measures observed across all operation to ensure the safety and well-being of guests, staff members and vendors. Based on the former, Cinépolis announced its intention to reduce touch points to the least necessary, and is therefore offering ticket bookings exclusively online. Additionally, Cinépolis ensures social distancing guidelines will be in practice at all common areas and inside theaters.
