MUSCAT : Tesla plans to enter Oman in 2027 and has begun hiring in Muscat, electric vehicle news outlet EVwire reported, citing a LinkedIn announcement by the company’s Middle East market lead.
Pawel Trzpis said Tesla was “building our team from the ground up,” with initial recruitment focused on sales and customer-facing roles. His post gave no specific launch date or details on which models Tesla would offer in Oman.
The expansion comes a decade after Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk named Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as markets the company intended to enter when it launched in the United Arab Emirates in February 2017, EVwire reported.

Tesla entered Jordan the following month and began taking orders in Qatar in December 2023. It launched in Saudi Arabia in April 2025 and by March 2026 had sales and service centres in Riyadh and Jeddah, along with 48 Supercharger stalls, according to EVwire.
Tesla also operates a programme in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan that allows businesses to buy and host fast chargers run by the automaker.
In Oman, Tesla previously worked with Majid Al Futtaim to install four electric vehicle chargers at City Centre Muscat in 2018, EVwire said.
