WASHINGTON : Called ‘Your Algorithm’, the feature enables users to express their interests and preferences in their own words, giving them greater control over recommendations beyond the platform’s traditional reliance on likes, views, comments and other interactions.
The feature applies to content displayed in Facebook’s main feed and reels, the platform’s short-video service. Users can also adjust their preferences through controls available alongside recommended posts.
According to Meta, the feature uses large language models to help its recommendation systems interpret users’ requests and preferences, allowing suggested content to be adjusted accordingly.
