MUSCAT – The rulings also imposed fines and other financial penalties totalling RO 5,400 against the defendants, according to the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA).
The cases involved seven consumers who had contracted the establishments to manufacture and install doors in agreed quantities and specifications. The consumers made advance payments, with the work due to be completed within specified timeframes.
However, the establishments failed to fulfil their contractual obligations and complete the installations within the agreed deadlines. They also failed to respond to consumers’ telephone calls and follow-up visits, the authority said.
