MUSCAT : Oman’s National Committee for Emergency Management reviewed on Tuesday efforts to deal with a ship grounded off the Hallaniyat Islands in Dhofar governorate, stressing the need to continue measures to reduce its potential risks, the Oman News Agency reported.
The committee assessed the latest developments and the ongoing response during a meeting that also examined ways to improve the country’s emergency management system, according to the agency’s statement.
The incident involves the oil tanker Caroline Bezengi, which earlier official reports identified as grounded near Al Qibliyah Island, part of the Hallaniyat archipelago. Authorities have been coordinating operations to address oil pollution and protect the surrounding marine environment.
