MUSCAT : US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has acknowledged Oman’s important role in efforts to de-escalate regional tensions during a telephone call with Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, according to the US State Department.
The two officials spoke on Tuesday as tensions in the region remain heightened, with maritime security and developments involving Iran among the issues discussed.
According to a State Department readout, Rubio recognised Oman’s role in supporting de-escalation efforts across the region.
