MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has urged the public not to circulate misleading videos and information after an old clip purporting to show people entering the Sultanate of Oman illegally resurfaced on social media.
In a statement, the ROP said it had followed up on the video circulating online and established that the footage was old and dated back to 2024.
Police said the necessary measures had been taken at the time of the incident.

The ROP called on members of the public to exercise caution when encountering content on social media and to refrain from sharing misleading clips or unverified information.
It also urged people to rely on official sources for news and information.
