MUSCAT : HILIA, the homegrown Omani luxury jewellery brand, has been named ‘Best Omani Jewellery Brand of the Year’ at the fifth TAS Oman Business Awards, recognising its craftsmanship, distinctive design philosophy and commitment to preserving Omani heritage through contemporary jewellery.
The award marks another milestone for a brand whose roots stretch back several decades. According to HILIA, the Al-Tiywani family’s journey in silver jewellery craftsmanship began in the historic city of Nizwa in the late 1970s, when Nasser Al-Tiywani laid the foundations of a craft that would subsequently pass through generations of the family.
His son Saif continued the family tradition from the early 1990s, combining traditional craftsmanship with a more contemporary approach. The next generation carried the legacy forward with the establishment of HILIA in 2017. The brand is today led by members of the Al-Tiywani family, including CEO Emad Saif Al Tiwani.

The name HILIA derives from the Arabic word for adornment and jewellery, reflecting the brand’s mission to reinterpret the beauty of the past through contemporary design. Its creations draw inspiration from Oman’s cultural heritage, ranging from the intricate engravings of traditional silver khanjars to patterns found in Islamic architecture.
This connection between heritage and modern design has become central to HILIA’s identity. The company describes its vision as becoming a premier destination for jewellery inspired by Oman’s heritage, while its values place emphasis on craftsmanship, authenticity and innovation.
Its collections also reinterpret distinctly Omani cultural elements. The Mazoon Collection, for example, takes inspiration from the traditional Omani Samt, while incorporating motifs associated with Omani women, traditional weaving, embroidery and other elements of local craftsmanship into a contemporary design language.
HILIA has continued to expand its presence in Oman, with the brand announcing the opening of its fourth Muscat gallery at City Centre Al Seeb as part of its growth strategy.
The ‘Best Omani Jewellery Brand of the Year’ recognition at the TAS Oman Business Awards celebrates HILIA’s journey from a family tradition of silver craftsmanship to a contemporary Omani luxury brand, while keeping the Sultanate’s identity and heritage at the heart of its creations.
HILIA was among 25 winners honoured at the fifth TAS Oman Business Awards, organised by The Arabian Stories (TAS) at IntercityHotel Muscat.
The fifth edition brought together businesses, entrepreneurs and industry leaders from across the Sultanate and was held under the patronage of HE Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Majlis Al Shura.
