MUSCAT: The warning forms part of a public awareness message urging people to consider the potential consequences of content they create and publish, particularly material involving children and vulnerable individuals.
According to the Public Prosecution, publishing content that promotes violence or excessive fear among children is also punishable under Article 36/7 of the Cybercrime Law, issued under Royal Decree No. 61/2026.
The authority urged content creators not to turn children or domestic workers into material for entertainment, attention or views, highlighting that content shared online can have lasting consequences for those featured.
The Public Prosecution also cautioned against publishing frightening or disturbing material that could negatively affect children, stressing the need to consider their wellbeing before creating or sharing such content.
