MUSCAT: Indian Social Club Oman (ISC Oman) has honoured Balwinder Singh with its prestigious ‘Indian of the Year’ award, recognising his longstanding contribution to community service and philanthropy in Oman.

The award was presented during ISC Oman’s celebration of India’s 80th Independence Day, which brought together a large gathering of members of the Indian community for an evening of cultural performances, music and celebrations.

Singh has dedicated several decades to charitable and community initiatives at the grassroots level, supporting people through what the Club described as his selfless service.

The recognition proved to be one of the most emotional moments of the evening.

In his acceptance speech, Singh thanked Indian Social Club Oman for the honour and described the occasion as one of the best days he had spent in Oman. He was visibly moved as he received the recognition for his years of community work.

India’s Ambassador to Oman, H.E. Prashant Pise, attended the Independence Day celebration as chief guest, alongside several dignitaries and prominent members of the community.
