Muscat: The certification reflects the unit’s commitment to globally recognised standards for measuring and presenting investment performance, which are based on the principles of fair representation and full disclosure.

The standards provide a unified framework for calculating and reporting investment performance, helping improve the reliability of investment reports and allowing results to be compared using internationally approved methodologies.

They are widely adopted by major asset owners and investment managers around the world as a benchmark for best practices in asset management and performance evaluation.

The Social Protection Fund said the certification forms part of the Investment Unit’s continued efforts to develop its investment management framework and align its practices with international standards.

The move is expected to enhance asset management efficiency, strengthen transparency and governance, and improve the quality of investment reporting for stakeholders.

Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Wahaibi, Head of the Investment Unit at the Social Protection Fund, described the certification as an important milestone in the development of the Fund’s investment system.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, Al-Wahaibi said the achievement confirms the unit’s commitment to continuously improving its investment practices in line with leading international standards.

He added that applying the standards would strengthen the reliability of investment reports, support more efficient investment decisions and enhance stakeholder confidence in the management of the Fund’s assets.

Al-Wahaibi stressed that the Investment Unit would continue developing its capabilities and adopting global best practices to support the Social Protection Fund’s long-term objectives.
