MUSCAT : The Muscat Stock Exchange has been recognised as the highest Arab stock exchange in terms of profit-rate return, following a period of strong market performance and sustained growth across key indicators.
The award was announced in conjunction with the 2026 Annual Conference of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets, hosted by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, which concludes today.
The recognition comes as the Muscat Stock Exchange continues to post strong gains in trading activity, market capitalisation and the performance of listed companies.

The MSX30 index has risen by 29 per cent since the beginning of 2026, maintaining its lead among Gulf market indices. This follows an annual return of 28.2 per cent in 2025, the highest annual return among Gulf Cooperation Council markets, according to the Arab Federation of Capital Markets report.
Trading value on the Muscat Stock Exchange has exceeded OMR 9 billion since the beginning of 2026, representing growth of more than 300 per cent compared with the same period in 2025.
The market capitalisation of listed companies has also climbed to around OMR 39 billion, marking an increase of 22 per cent compared with 2025.
Average daily trading value in 2026 reached approximately OMR 52 million, an increase of more than 150 per cent compared with the 2025 average. The rise reflects stronger liquidity levels and growing investor activity in the market.
Listed companies also recorded improved financial performance, with net profits rising by 12 per cent during the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.
The Muscat Stock Exchange had also recorded the highest dividend yield among Arab stock exchanges in 2025 at 5.2 per cent, while the MSX30 index topped Gulf market performance with its 28.2 per cent annual return.
