MUSCAT : The agreement is aimed at combining Transom’s operational expertise with Air Algérie Group’s established capabilities to improve efficiency, service quality and operational performance across Algeria’s growing aviation sector.
The memorandum was signed by Nasser bin Ahmed Al Sharji, Acting CEO of Oman Airports and CEO of Transom, and Hamza Benhamouda, Chairman and CEO of Air Algérie Group.
Al Sharji described the agreement as a major milestone in Transom’s international expansion, noting that Algeria’s large and interconnected aviation market, along with its growth potential, makes it strategically important for the Omani company.

Drawing on more than 50 years of aviation-sector experience, Transom plans to bring its operational expertise to Algeria to improve efficiency, strengthen performance and develop capabilities needed to support the next phase of growth in the country’s aviation industry.
Benhamouda said the partnership would help improve the passenger experience by raising the quality of ground handling services at Algerian airports while creating wider opportunities for future cooperation.
He added that collaboration between Air Algérie, Oman Airports and Transom represents an important step towards strengthening services offered to travellers and developing new opportunities across various aviation service segments.
Transom’s international operations cover a broad range of services, including ground handling, cargo, catering and premium passenger services. Its expansion strategy is supported by Omani expertise and competencies operating in accordance with international aviation standards.
Building on its established presence at airports across the Sultanate of Oman, Transom has also expanded into Tanzania, where it operates at Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Mwanza airports.
The Algerian partnership will further strengthen the company’s footprint in Africa and represents more than geographical expansion, positioning Transom to transfer Omani aviation expertise into new markets while strengthening its standing as an international aviation services operator.
