MUSCAT: The eclipse will be visible to varying degrees across different parts of the world, but no part of the Sultanate of Oman will be within the eclipse’s visibility zone, the department said.
The total solar eclipse is expected to reach its maximum duration of 2 minutes and 18 seconds at its longest point on Earth.
The total phase will be visible across parts of northern Russia, Greenland, Iceland, northern Spain and a small part of Portugal.

A partial eclipse will be visible across most of Europe, northern and western Africa, large parts of North America and areas of the North Atlantic Ocean.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with the peak of the eclipse listed at 9.46 pm Oman time.
