Muscat: In a statement, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks also constitute a violation of the sovereignty of territorial waters and pose a direct threat to the safety of maritime navigation through the strategic waterway.

The Sultanate stressed that ongoing negotiations concerning arrangements related to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz are progressing in a “positive and constructive atmosphere”.

Oman emphasised the importance of avoiding any actions or escalatory measures that could negatively affect the negotiations or undermine the progress already achieved.

The Foreign Ministry added that the discussions take into consideration the interests of all parties, reaffirming Oman’s support for constructive dialogue aimed at safeguarding freedom of navigation and maintaining security and stability in the region.
